Dear Panayiotis, once our fries are cooked, we hold them for a maximum of seven minutes in our warming cabinets to keep them hot and fresh for you to enjoy. Since quality is at the heart of everything we do at McDonald's, we don't serve any fries that have been held longer than seven minutes.

Sandra What type of potatoes do you use to make our fries?
Dear Sandra, in Europe our French fries are made from whole, real potatoes. The only other ingredients are a blend of non-hydrogenated vegetable oils, a small amount of dextrose and a stabilizer known as disodium diphosphate. Picking the perfect variety and therefore we use Russet Burbank and Ivory Russet potatoes. We don’t just choose them for their interesting names, it’s because we know these varieties make crispy fries. And as they’re bigger spuds, it means the fries we cut from them are long enough for you to nibble and dip.
Myria Do you wear gloves?
Yes Myria, our crew wears gloves – in addition to hand washing - when handling and preparing food. We have implemented a two colored glove system to avoid cross contamination. Blue colored gloves are worn when handling raw meat and eggs, and clear gloves are worn when handling cooked products and ready to eat ingredients like salad, cheeses, buns.

Dear Nicolas, at McDonald's we apply rigorous standards of food safety and hygiene standards. All crew, no matter what station or task they are working on in the restaurant, must wash their hands before starting work and at least every hour throughout their shift and have strict orders to stay clean and take very good care of personal hygiene. All of our crew members are trained on hand washing procedures using anti-microbial soap specifically developed for McDonald’s.

Dear Ramona, we appreciate that some of our customers have allergies. Therefore, we develop our products to have a technical minimum of allergens. However, we always highlight that cross contact between food items is always a risk in any working kitchen, therefore we cannot guarantee that any food items are soy-free even if soy is not an ingredient. We are providing information to customers about potential allergens in our food for a number of years. Dear Anna, we are aware of the serious health risk to people who are allergic to whole peanuts, nuts or nut derivatives and these are excluded as ingredients from our menu items. However, we are unable to categorically state that our products are 100% free of nuts or nut derivatives, because there is a possibility of cross contamination at some point in the food chain or even in our restaurants.
