At McDonald´s™, we know that we have a responsibility to continuously improve our environmental performance and we strive towards that direction in our everyday dealings in all aspects of our business.

Being environmentally responsible is not simply an action we believe in, it is a cultural trait, which we are proud of, and we try to continuously 'pass it on´ to our employees, suppliers & further more to our customers.

We have shifted from foam packaging to paper packaging making our packaging fully dispensable and recyclable.

All McDonald´s™ restaurants are fully equipped to recycle plastic bottles. Bins have been placed in each restaurant in order to collect the bottles. At McDonald´s™ we don´ t only care about what happens in our restaurants but also what happens in the communities we live and work in. We have donated bins to municipalities and schools across Cyprus to help the community keep a cleaner environment.

Trees are a symbol of the environment. We have made it our obligation and pleasure to plant trees in the cities of our country. In the past couple of years we have organized many tree planting events to help build a 'greener´ environment for us and our children.

We try to help whenever possible non-profit environmental organizations in Cyprus to carry out projects which we believe are a beautiful innovation towards an eco-friendlier environment. In 2010 we donated to the Art & Wild Nature Foundation a vehicle for the transportation of recycled material, which is destined for the construction of a greenhouse made entirely from recycled material.
